As always, Adobe Reader team has been working hard to improve the product further - by adding a couple of very useful capabilities, as well as addressing the valuable inputs which are provided by users like you.
Here's a run down of the new stuff which you would see in the upcoming release of Reader on Android -
- Scan your document through ‘Camera to PDF’ workflow
- You can now click a photograph of physical document and convert it into PDF. This feature automatically does some enhancements & corrections in the clicked photograph, and you can of course tweak them further.
- Sharing your documents
- While viewing a document, tap Send > Share Public Link, and you can instantly send a link to the document's Acrobat.com location. Reader shows you all the send options available on your device, including options like email, messages, copy, and so on.
- 'Clear Recents' option is back. Yay!
- You can use 2-page view mode on 7"/8” devices now.
- Changing signature properties has been made easier during creation workflow.
- And of course, numerous bug fixes.
You want to give it a try?
In an attempt to solicit early feedback on new features and bug fixes that we are making for our upcoming release, we would like to extend you an invitation to be a part of our beta program. If you are interested in testing the beta build of the upcoming release of Reader on Android, please follow these 5 quick steps:
- If you have a device with Android OS version 4.x, download the apk from the following location:
- Next, you need to let your phone install any APK file, by going to Settings > Security > tick ”Unknown sources“.
- You might also have to select “Turn On USB Storage” to be able to copy the APK from your PC to your Android device. You can access it in the notification area in the top of your home screen when your phone is connected to your PC.
- Transfer the apk from your PC to a location on your Android device.
- Using a File Manager, find the apk on your device and tap on it. You will be guided through the steps to update the application with the prerelease version.
Once installed, you should uncheck the 'Unknown sources' for security reasons.
Please note that this build is still in development stage and might have bugs. If you encounter any such issue, please reply to us on this thread along with the details of your device and the steps to reproduce it. Your feedback is highly appreciated, and we would try to incorporate it before we publish the final build of this release on Google Play in a few weeks.
Thanks,
